Our amp designs are where classic guitar amp circuitry joins together with advancements in modern technology and engineering to create the “Cicognani Signature Sound”.
The New CICOGNANI amps feature the design and engineering skills of Guglielmo Cicognani, who is well known throughout Italy as engineer and handcrafter of custom tube amps for guitar and bass, having great originality of design and sound. His reputation for customizing popular brands of English and American amps quickly spread among pro musicians in Italy during the 1980’s. In 2007, Cicognani and FBT have joined together their reciprocal strengths to present to the market a new complete range of Custom Tube Amps with their own signature sound for today’s highly demanding professional musicians.
When FBT was founded in 1963, some of the first FBT branded products produced were tube based guitar and bass amps. In the 1970’s with the evolution of transistor technology, brought FBT to manufacture extremely reliable yet affordable amps for both the domestic and export markets. Since then, FBT has continuously made the investment of both time and capital in R&D to produce innovative sound reinforcement products for live performance and permanent installations.
With the vast experience gained in more than 45 years of electronics manufacturing and the engineering skills of Cicognani, the original FBT manufacturing roots of producing Custom Tube Guitar Amps has now been revived with a fresh and strong approach. With FBT’s distribution presence in international markets and solid establishment in the audio industry, the “CICOGNANI” brand is now becoming well known worldwide. All design, engineering and manufacturing continues in Italy at the FBT factory.
